Chuck Sexton grew up poor in rural Kentucky and is motivated by his life’s experiences. When Sexton was in elementary school his father got a job at a new manufacturing plant in town, a job that Sexton remembers suddenly could pay for better food, better shoes, a better house, and a better car. Sexton is driven to economic growth for small and mid-sized companies, communities, and nonprofit organizations so others can enjoy the economic success his family did when presented with a better paying job.
Sexton was named CEO of Next Move Group, LLC, in 2022. Within one month on the job, Sexton secured Next Move Group’s largest industrial site selection client ever based on revenue, a $14 billion/year company. In addition to being responsible for running Next Move Group, Sexton hosts the weekly “We Are Jobs” podcast.
Sexton is a graduate of Oklahoma University’s Economic Development Institute and was named a “Top-40 Under 40” Economic Developer by DCI in 2017. Sexton has served on the Boards of Directors for the 17-state Southern Economic Development Council and the Kentucky Association for Economic Development.
Prior to joining Next Move Group, Sexton spent 7 years running a 9-county regional economic development organization. Additionally, Sexton had private sector experience working in industrial sales, risk planning, and strategic planning.
Outside of work, Sexton is an avid bourbon collector and huge Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan. Sexton is a proud father of two.
